RE: The tariff classification of D-Penicillamine (CAS 52-67-5) from Germany.
Dear Mr. Chivini:
In your letter dated November 13, 2001, you requested a tariff classification ruling for D-Penicillamine which you have stated will be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate and will be packaged in bulk form.
The applicable subheading will be 2930.90.4920, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for organo-sulfur compounds: other. Pursuant to General Note 13 to the Tariff Schedule of the United States, this product is free of duty.
This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
